Allergy season is quickly approaching, and I am already feeling and seeing the effects of allergy related puffy eyes. With all the warm weather we have had this winter, I suspect this year’s allergy season may be one of the worst.
Since I’ve been battling the puffy eyes syndrome lately, I decided to share some easy tips on how to remedy swelling and puffiness around the eyes. If you are experiencing puffy eyes, try the following remedies:
* Reduce Salt: Cut back on salt, as salt causes the body to retain water.
* Use Cucumbers: Place cold cucumber slices over closed eyes for 10 to 15 minutes
* Allergy Medicines: Antihistamines can be helpful for puffy eyes caused by allergies.
* Hydration: Drink plenty of water. When you are dehydrated, your body will store more water and make eye puffiness worse.
* Eye Cream: Try using an eye cream that contains Vitamin E.
* Alcohol: Cut back on alcohol consumption.
* Hemroid Cream: A small amount of Preparation H, rubbed underneath the eyes can reduce swelling. Avoid getting this product in your eyes.
* Tea Bags: Place cool wet teabags over the eyes. The caffeine helps to reduce swelling and puffiness and make eyes appear brighter and more alert.
* Eye Gel: Try using a soothing eye gel, a product designed to reduce puffiness and dark circles and bring back elasticity to tired eyes.
* Ice Water: Soak cotton balls in ice water and apply to eyes.
* Cold Teaspoons: Put teaspoons in the refrigerator to chill; lay them over your closed eyelids. Chill extra spoons to replace the others when they become warm.
* Potatoes: Chilled potato slices placed over closed eyes will help reduce inflammation.
* Reduce Allergens at Home: Try using an air purifier if you suspect your eye puffiness is caused by allergies.
* Don’t Rub!: Avoid rubbing puffy eyes, as this makes the puffiness worse.
* Cold Water: Splash the face with cold water.
* Rest Your Eyes: Rest your eyes frequently when reading or working on the computer.
* Check Your Makeup: If your eye makeup is irritating the eyes and making them puffy, try switching brands to see if the problem resolves. Remember to throw away an eye makeup that’s old.
* Get Sleep: Get plenty of sleep.
* Lift Your Head: Try propping your head up when you sleep to keep fluid from accumulating underneath the eyes.
* Refridgerate Your Eye Cream: Keep your eye cream in the refrigerator. Applying anything cold helps to reduce puffiness.
Puffy eyes are not pretty, especially if you have an important interview or presentation coming up.
Let me know if you try theses methods to reduce puffy eyes and how they work for you.

Mornings can be quite hectic for savvy young women like us and our office makeup routine shouldn’t suffer. Some of us aren’t just professionals; we’re wives, mothers, and recent grads with fabulous social lives! There simply are days where a long, tedious morning makeup routine is just not possible when waking up late and its t-minus 20 minutes to rushing out the door to catch a train.
Essential Office Makeup Items for the Young Professional Gal On-the-Go
IMO, these are the 5 essential makeup items every young professional gal must have for her office makeup routine to keep herself on schedule without compromising looking fresh and fabulous during her workday
- Lipstick – Lipstick brightens the face, and if you can wear nothing else at least give apply this.
- Mascara – No matter how tired you may be, mascara instantly lifts the eyes and makes them sparkle. No time for eyeliner? That’s fine. But love those lashes!
- Cheek Color – Blush helps you look alive. Ever wonder why even Sleeping Beauty looked so good even while she laid there half dead?
- Powder – Shine reducer! Need I say more?
- Lip Gloss – My lip gloss is always poppin’! Go for the layered effect if you can. But no matter what lip gloss offers sparkle and shine to an otherwise blah complexion.
Maintaining Your Professional Image Should Be Relatively Easy
We all have those mornings where it just doesn’t seem to be happening for us. But that doesn’t mean your professional image has to suffer by slacking off on our office makeup routine. Each of these items can easily be kept at your desk for that “break open in case of emergency” moment. Remember we are working for a total package and we just never know when we might have that impromptu meeting with a prize client or CEO.

I’ll be honest. Cream eye color many times gets a bad rap. I know I haven’t been a fan of cream eye color at first because I have oily skin. But cosmetic companies are offering better formulations and color options of cream eye color that are worth a second look. So before you write of all cream eye color, take a look at what I found.
I found a great review on one of my favorite cream eye colors (not that I’m totally biased!). Take a look at CollegeCandy.com for more information.
Mary Kay is a brand you don’t see much of on beauty blogs. It’s sold through consultants, as opposed to the internet or giant beauty chains, and is often overlooked. However, I think this brand has a few gems to offer and I can’t wait to share them with you!
Application was also a dream. I find Benefit’s Creaseless Creams to be a bit too slippery, but Mary Kay cream eye color was thicker and made it easy to apply a proper layer.

What are your beauty tips for the office?
How many times have you gone to work having meticulously taken the time to apply your make-up, only to find it halfway down your face at the end of the day?
Truth is, today's busy career girl hardly has time for those essential beauty check-ins when she's buried up to her nose in piles of paperwork!
The good news is you shouldn't have to leave your desk if just to keep that well-groomed look all day. Here's how. Follow a few simple office beauty tips and treat yourself to a handful of life-saving products to keep your hair and make-up looking fresh.
10 Beauty Tips for the Office
- The first golden rule of beauty tips at work is to avoid touching your face with your hands. It's so easy to do; I'm absolutely guilty of this. Constantly rubbing your face with dirty fingers not only smudges your make-up, but it also transfers dirt and bacteria on to your skin. Ever heard of a formula for pimple breakouts!?
- Keep out of your hair too. Too much twisting and twirling will soon flatten a fresh hairstyle and just like skin, hair can wind up looking dull and greasy if it's handled too much with grubby hands.
- Keeping a hidden away mirror is the ideal way to keep your complexion in check throughout the day and cuts down on those visits to the bathroom! Invest in a good pocket-sized mirror and keep it safely hidden inside a desk drawer for quick access.
- In the summer months, battling with the A/C all day in your office can wreak havoc on your skin especially if yours is oil-prone, like mine. You could use a quick fix way to matify and remove oil-slick shine. A mini pack of face blotting tissues is the answer and can be discreetly tucked away into a handbag or desk drawer. Use one of the individual sheets to gently blot away excess oil whenever you need.
- If you're struggle isn't with oily skin and you find yourself at the other end of the spectrum, suffering with dry skin is not generally helped by the office environment. A facial spritzer spray like Evian Facial Spray delivers instant moisture and leaves your complexion feeling fresh and revitalized.
- Tea Tree Oil is a lifesaver if you happen to notice an unwanted blemish halfway through the day. Resist the temptation to pick it and just dab a few drops on the infected area. Keep a small bottle of this natural essential oil on-hand; it's well-known for its anti-bacterial qualities and can be bought at general stores or pharmacies. If you know you have blemish-prone skin, you can also keep a small tube of benzyl peroxide 2.5% on hand.
- Did you have a rough night or perhaps a great night just a little too much fun? If you feel a bit under the weather the next day at the office, a cooling eye gel can at least create the illusion that you are awake and works wonders if you apply it just before your now-much-needed under-eye concealer.
- Keep lips soft and kissable with regular coats of moisturizing lip balm. Keep your lips satiny feeling with the Mary Kay Satin Lips set. The mask buffs away dry skin, while the balm keeps lips soft and moisturized.
- A pack of cleansing wipes are always handy if you're planning to go straight out with friends after work and allow you to freshen up your complexion before touching up your make-up. Try an unscented baby wipe from your favorite brand or a facial wipe specially formulated for your face. Be care with scented wipes intended for other parts of your body, your face tends to be more sensitive than other areas and may react negatively. Ask me how I know!?!
- Last but not the least of my beauty tips, don't neglect your hands and nails. Always have an emery board handy for jagged nail disasters – a nail clipper isn't a bad idea either. It's beats using your desk scissors in a bind (and yes, I've done this before… don't judge me!) Ms. Manicure sells a handy matchbook of miniatures and while you're at it, keep your hands moisturized with a tube of hand cream. For soft youthful-looking hands, apply your cream two or three times a day, especially after washing. A great option is the MK® Satin Hands Set. It's worth making room for it in your desk drawer and the large size will last you for months! But if you're short on space or money, the hand cream is still just as great by itself.
Tips on Office Manicures
I was on the train yesterday going to work and I noticed a young woman’s manicure. She was wearing clear nail polish with silver confetti in it. What are the best tips for office manicures? I’ll admit I eye-hustled her nails for a hot second. But her nails were nicely shaped, and her cuticles in good condition. The only thing that struck me was the confetti polish on a workday.
I think it’s really cool some of the new nail polish effects they are offering these days. But for a young professional woman, I still think that a neutral color is best.
Don’t get me wrong I admire the dark hues of brown and red. And I’m totally feeling the deep sapphire blue of Essie’s new winter collection. A number of the girls in my office are wearing the darker color polishes, and pulling it off well.
But I think when we start to move into the darker blues, purples, and blacks we might be bring too much attention to ourselves over our office manicures.
Though some of the gray-colored hues give just the right amount of drama without all the attraction. Check out Chinchilly and Smokin’ Hot.
Essie has some really great shades in neutrals and pinks that go with every occasion!
I’m a huge fan of anything orange, so you know my eyes perk up with very structured.
Office manicures in a Nutshell
At the end of the day, in a professional setting, you should keep your manicure simple; nails should be short and cuticles should be trimmed and pushed back. Skip cracked top coats and the glitter.
Stick with neutral polishes at work, for a clean, finished look. A neutral manicure need not match your skin; instead, it should compliment your skin tone without drawing attention to itself. So no hot pink or bright red. You want to be taken seriously, and aomething as small as the 10 nails on your hands can create a subconscious element of doubt in the minds of your superiors who will assess personally how well you represent their brand by your wadrobe choices.
But when in doubt look to the women leaders in your company to take the cue. As I always say, dress for the job you want not the one you have.

It seems that before Christmas was over stores were already preparing us for Valentine’s Day. But since V-Day is now less than a month away, it’s perhaps time to start thinking about preparing to look your best for your special someone. Here are 5 beauty tips to consider as you are preparing your look for this special day!
Valentine’s Day Beauty Tip #1: Start with Flawless Skin
Refresh your complexion over the next few weeks with an exfoliant. A microdermabrasion product will help reduce fine lines and visible pores, giving you more flawless skin for a more perfect facial canvas. Even if you choose not to wear makeup, this regimen can take years off any woman’s face. You only need to use this once or twice a week to see results. Be sure to complete this step with a moisturizer with SPF to protect your skin from the sun.
Valentine’s Day Beauty Tip #2: Consider a Light Look
No, I’m not talking about wearing a foundation that is too light for your skin tone that you look like a vampire. I meant that in the winter, skin is already dry and dull. Less foundation is truly more in this instance. You will look more awake if your skin shines through. Consider a light-reflecting foundation or a tinted moisturizer.
Valentine’s Day Beauty Tip #3: Blush Yourself
Never underestimate the power of a good blush for your overall look. Blush creates a warm glow for the face and highlights the cheekbone giving your face more structure. A cream blush goes on sheer and is easy to blend. To choose a natural look for your blush, pinch your cheeks and see what color they turn; then try to match it. Bronzing powder is also a great go to for a natural glow.
Valentine’s Day Beauty Tip #4: Smooth Criminal Lips
Every day should be a day for smooth, kissable lips, but especially on Valentine’s Day!! Like the rest of your body, your lips need exfoliation and moisture regularly to be kissably soft. Slather on an exfoliating lip balm followed by a long-wear moisturizer and it will help slough away and keep at bay the crusty lip syndrome so many of us suffer from this time of year.
Valentine’s Day Beauty Tip #5: Love Your Lashes
Eye-popping lashes bring drama and polish to a makeup look. With the right mascara it is easy to make your eyes stand out. Curl your lashes first, starting at the root and working your way to the ends; pinching along the way. Starting at the root of the lash, add mascara by wiggling the wand all the way to the end. Two to three coats are ideal, separating with an eyelash comb in between coats to avoid clumps.
Bonus Beauty Tip (you can thank me later!): Sweet Smelling Scents in the Sensual Spots
Applying your (or his) favorite scents on pulse points all over your body will give off just the right amount of heat to make your scent come alive. Your pulse points are your wrists, inner elbows, temples, neck hollow, behind the ears, and behind the knees. Apply no more than two drops of perfume, three sprays of eau de parfum, and four hits of eau de toilette.

Skin Savvy Diera’s Top 5 Must-Have Makeup Products for Your Makeup Bag
Beauty on a budget is my middle name! I like to look good for less. And here are some tips on how I achieve this. I will not travel anywhere without these essential items.
Cleanser
First, I need to start with clean skin, so cleanser is a must-have makeup product. No matter if you wear makeup everyday or just on special occasions, keeping your skin healthy is essential. I like to keep it simple, so I love, I mean absolutely love, the Timewise® 3-in-1 cleanser; it cleanses, tones, and exfoliates in one application. It comes formulated for normal/dry skin and combination/oily skin.
Moisturizer
My next must-have makeup suggestion is a good moisturizer. Again, because I like to keep things simple I love the idea of a tinted moisturizer. For those who are quick, on-the-go beauty babes, this is ideal. It can be worn alone or underneath a foundation or bronzer for additional coverage.
Bronzer
The third must-have beauty product for my makeup case is bronzer. Like I mentioned previously it can be worn all over the face layered with a tinted moisturizer. It can also be used just on the cheeks for contouring or on the eyes to give them that extra pop!
Mascara
Good mascara is essential to a polished put together look. Black is the best color if you want to draw attention to your eyes. A dark brown will give you a more natural look. My new favorite is the Mary Kay® Lash Love Mascara in I <3 Black! It goes on without clumping and stays on your eyelashes (I doesn’t creep under your eyes) all day.
Lip Gloss
Girl, my lip gloss must be poppin’ each and every day. To give your lips that kissable, moisturized look explore the many options of lip glosses out there. Just released were 14 new colors in the Nourishine Lip Gloss Collection. Beach Bronze and Rich Spice are to die for!

a wordpress plugin post with a WP blog is all anybody require to earn cash on the net.For many years i struggled trying to figure out which foundation worked best for me. And sometimes it really takes trial and error to determine which type and brand works best for your skin and body chemistry. Not all foundations are created equal. And quite frankly when you get it wrong, you really can look like a clown. So I am writing this article to help readers avoid as many Bozo moments as possible.
First, choose your foundation based on your skin type.
If you have oily skin, look for an oil-free liquid or powder foundation. These will usually include some powders that will help absorb excess oil leaving a matte (no shine) finish. Mineral powders tend to work quite well.
For combination skin (that is, you have an oily t-zone only) try powder foundation as you can apply more in the oily spots and less in your drier spots without noticeable lines like a liquid or cream.
Hydration is key for dry skin, so opt for a cream, liquid, or stick. You may also find a hydrating powder that offers good coverage and moisture to the skin offering a more dewy finish.
Second, consider the season of year.
In the winter months, skin tends to be drier and you may need more moisture factor from your foundation. Absolutely do not skip the moisturizer, but consider a tinted moisturizer for a layering.
In the summer months, it is not necessary to forego the foundation, but a more lightweight or tinted moisturizer will do the trick depending on the level of coverage you are looking for.
Additionally, your skin color tends to lighten in the fall and winter, so a lighter shade may be necessary.
Lastly, if you are new to the makeup world visit a makeup counter at places like Sephora, MAC, or at a department store. They can help you make informed decisions that won’t waste your money. Or you can contact independent beauty consultants from companies like Mary Kaywho can meet with you individually and sometimes in the privacy of your home to review your personal skin care needs.
a directory wordpress plugin with a WP blog is all you require to make money online.
